The Department of Economics of our College was established in the year 2002. It has been offering 3 years General (Program) Course since then (in I+I+I Format). The Honours section started in 2015. The first Honours batch was completed with 06 students in 2018.
The Department offers Honours and Programme Courses in the Semester-based CBCS format from the Academic Session 2017-18.
Economics Major and Minor have been offered to the students since the 2023-24 academic session following the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP). Multidiscipline Courses (MDC), Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), Value-Added Courses/Add-on Courses, Summer Internships, and Honours with Research Degrees are also offered by the department.
Direct Teaching-Learning has been applied with the help of Verbal Communication and using Text Books, Reference Books, and Journals related to the Syllabus. Teachers also took their classes using PowerPoint presentations. Online courses have also been provided to the students using Google Meet and Whatsapp. Study materials have been provided to the students through email, WhatsApp, and the college website (www.kashipurmmm.org). The Department has connected through various Whatsapp groups of the students for each semester and departmental mail ID (kmmmeconomics@gmail.com).
The department has a computer with an internet connection for the teachers and students. There is a separate Departmental Library for the students.
Internal Assessment is taken via Students' Presentations (Mentor-Mentee Program) and via MCQ through Google Forms. Regular Seminars, Webinars, workshops, and Add-on Courses are organized by the department.
